Comments on: Lost in Translation https://youngsaroundtheworld.com/151-lost-in-translation/ A weblog of our epic adventure Sun, 16 Jun 2013 17:03:52 +0000 hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=5.4.2 By: Jas https://youngsaroundtheworld.com/151-lost-in-translation/comment-page-1/#comment-6935 Mon, 14 Jul 2008 03:34:53 +0000 http://youngsaroundtheworld.com/blog/?p=151#comment-6935 I’m sitting here laughing – shaking my head as I recall a long walk I once took in China (no wall involved). I too fell for the rickshaw. Except that I didn’t have your moxie and he won the stand off – leaving me standing in the middle of – well – not where I needed to be.
Just want to share that your diaries make our Sunday evenings so enjoyable. As we start to come down from our weekends with the realization that we have to step back into Corporate America in mere hours – your stories take us away for one more escape before reality sets in. (A little humpday checkin helps too)
Hoping to connect with you somewhere but no matter what, Abueloca is all ready for you in Uruguay. She just hosted a girlfriend of mine who had a random South America business trip. They had dinner and talked politics, literature and FUEL. My mom’s always ready for a good debate so I’m sure you three will get along famously!

At that point, the driver realized that he was in danger of getting paid nothing; he reached into his change box and quickly produced two 10 yuan notes. The transaction was complete.”

All I can say is “YOU GO GIRL” I am so glad that you stood up to the jerk!

I can completely see you grabbing for the money……I think there is a saying about big things coming in small packages 🙂

Hope to see you in SA! 🙂
